The 2014 pre-season NFL schedule kicked off Sunday night in Canton, Ohio between the New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills in the annual Hall of Fame game. In Week 2, the pre-season schedule contains several “must-see” matchups. Some of the more anticipated include Philadelphia at New England on August 15th, Baltimore at Dallas and Miami at Tampa Bay on the 16th, Denver at San Francisco on the 17th, and Cleveland at Washington on Monday night the 18th. Many of the third week of pre-season games feature geographical “rivals” that include contests between Pittsburgh at Philadelphia, the Giants and the Jets, and Washington at Baltimore.
The 2014 pre-season schedule concludes on August 27 with a full slate of contests (all 32 teams) as final roster decisions are made in preparation for the opening of the regular season which officially kicks off on Thursday, September 4th with the Green Bay Packers traveling to Seattle to take on the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks.
